Terms and Conditions

1. Booking and Payment

1.1 All lessons are booked through my online booking platform, and a quote or booking confirmation will be sent to you.

1.2 A booking is not confirmed until payment is received in full. You can pay via the payment link in the booking platform or by bank transfer.

1.3 A reminder message may be sent the day before your lesson.

1.4 All lesson payments are non-refundable, except where set out under Cancellations and Rescheduling below.

1.5 Quotes and invoices are valid for six months from the date issued. After that, any unused payment may be forfeited.

2. Cancellations and Rescheduling

2.1 I need at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

2.2 If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, the lesson payment is forfeited.

2.3 If you give more than 24 hours' notice, your payment will be credited towards a future lesson.

2.4 If you don't turn up for a booked lesson, it will be treated the same as a late cancellation and the payment will be forfeited.

3. Lateness and Delays

3.1 I aim to start and finish every lesson on time so we get full value from the time booked.

3.2 If you're running late, let me know as soon as you can. Where a genuine emergency has caused the delay, I'll do my best to make up the lost time. Where the delay was avoidable, I'm not able to extend the lesson.

3.3 If I'm delayed for reasons beyond my control, such as a licensing appointment or a mechanical problem, I'll contact you to arrange an extension or a reschedule at no extra cost.

4. The Vehicle, Insurance and Excess

4.1 I provide a registered, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover for every lesson.

4.2 If the vehicle is damaged during your lesson as a result of your driving, you're responsible for the insurance excess payable on any resulting claim, and for the cost of any damage not covered by insurance.

4.3 I hold a current driver's licence, a driving instructor's licence, a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.

5. In-Car Cameras

5.1 Dash cams and in-car cameras may be operating and recording during every lesson.

5.2 By booking a lesson, you agree that this footage may be used for accident evidence, insurance claims, safety reviews and instructor training purposes.

5.3 Footage remains the property of Adelaide Hills Driving School.

6. Fitness to Drive

6.1 It's a legal requirement that I conduct lessons only when fit and healthy to do so, with a 0.00% blood alcohol reading and no illicit substances present.

6.2 The same requirement applies to you. If I believe you're not fit to drive, I'll refuse or end the lesson, and the lesson fee will still apply.

6.3 If you're taking medication that may affect your driving, check with your doctor before your lesson.

7. Safety During Lessons

7.1 I'll always aim to give you a safe, supportive learning environment, and I ask that you approach every lesson in a careful and focused way.

7.2 If evasive action is needed to avoid a hazard, I may take control of the vehicle. This can include reaching across you to control the steering wheel, pedals, gears or indicators.

7.3 You must drive only as instructed and always act responsibly. Any deliberate, reckless, illegal or dangerous act on your part may result in the lesson being ended immediately, with the full fee still payable.

8. Driving Tests

8.1 I'll let you know when I think you're ready for your test, based on your progress across our lessons.

8.2 If I don't feel you're ready once your planned lessons are complete, I'll tell you honestly and suggest a plan for further training.

8.3 I can't guarantee a test pass. I'll prepare you as thoroughly as I can, but on the day, mistakes can happen. There are no refunds if you don't pass, and further lessons may be recommended.

9. Your Responsibilities

9.1 You must hold a current, valid learner's permit or licence, and bring it to every lesson.

9.2 You're responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle. I don't accept responsibility for lost or damaged belongings.

9.3 You must treat me and the vehicle with respect. Abusive, aggressive or disrespectful behaviour will end the lesson immediately, with the full fee still payable.

10. Privacy

10.1 I collect your name, contact details and licence information to manage your bookings and lessons.

10.2 Where needed for a driving test or licence matter, I may share relevant details with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport or your test examiner.

10.3 I keep your information secure and don't share it beyond what's needed to run your lessons and tests.

11. Changes to These Terms

11.1 I may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on my website and booking page.
