VORT test preparation in the Adelaide Hills
The Vehicle On Road Test is the part most learners worry about. I can't sit the test for you, but I can make sure nothing in it comes as a surprise, and I can take the admin off your plate entirely.
What the test actually involves
The VORT takes up to 45 minutes. You'll be asked to demonstrate 5 slow-speed manoeuvres, then drive a general section covering lane changes, turning on and from busier roads, traffic lights, roundabouts, stop and give-way signs, and interacting with other traffic. To pass you need 90% or more, and no breach of road law. A breach ends the test on the spot, which is why we spend so much time on the habits that cause them.

I arrange the assessor and book the test for you
I'm not an Authorised Examiner, so I don't conduct the VORT myself. What I do is find an assessor who suits you, book the test on your behalf, run a warm-up lesson beforehand, and let you use my car on the day. That last part matters: sitting the test in the car you learned in removes one more unknown. Assessors generally need at least 3 days notice, so it's worth talking to me early rather than the week you want to sit it. My Test Day Package wraps all of that together (the warm-up drive, use of my car and the assessor's fee) and ranges from $300 to $400 depending on the assessor's own fee.
A written summary after every lesson
You'll get a written summary after each lesson setting out what we covered and what's worth practising before the next one. It means your supervising driver knows exactly where to focus, and parents and caregivers can keep up with current road rules rather than teaching what they were taught 20 years ago.
If the test doesn't go your way
It happens, and it isn't the end of anything. If you don't pass, you have to wait at least 13 clear days before attempting another practical test. We use that time deliberately rather than just re-booking and hoping.
